Dearly beloved we are gathered here today to drink two very good tasting red wines. If you are enjoying these wines, speak now or forever hold your peace!

No this is not a blog post about getting married, so you all can relax. Today I am bringing you two wines to celebrate my favorite holiday. Care to take a guess what that holiday is? Yep, its none other than Halloween. When I was frantically trying to find wines to review, I came across Dearly Beloved Wines. It was a perfect match for Halloween.

“Let’s face it, life is short… in fact, this could be your last day on earth. With that in mind, why settle? Reach for that one special wine, you know, the one that slays the rest, go ahead, reach for THIS WINE. We are here to have a damn good time because we can, because we should… because tomorrow may not be an option. So go on, dance like no one is watching,
sing like no one is listening, and live life courageously with no regrets. To help in this pursuit they have blended a number of red grape varieties from the Central Coast together to form a perfect union.”

You don’t have to think of why I picked these wines for Halloween do you? Yes, one of the reasons is because of the name, but also the amazing art work he bottle itself. Whether you enjoy this wine while trick or tricking with your kids or gorging yourself with candy you can’t go wrong with these two reds.

First on the list is Dearly Beloved 2012 Forever Red. This medium bodied wine is perfect to pair with different types of Halloween candy. My go to would be chocolate, because let’s face it, what else are you going to be eating on Halloween right? With its strong aromas of blackberry, blueberry, and dark cherry with a hint of spice. But if I am pairing this wine with a food, I would pick warm berry pie.

Second on the list is Dearly Beloved 2013 Blend #2. It is my go to pick for fall. This hardy red blend will keep you warm on that Halloween night. Why did I pick this wine for Halloween? Well, it’s all in the flavor profile. For me a good red wine has to have a strong body and even stronger flavor profile and this one does not disappoint. With flavors such as blackberry spicy black pepper with a hint of toasty vanilla. Food besides candy that I would pair with this wine would be chicken dishes, red meats, game, and mildly seasoned pastas.
