No, we’re not talking about the model Kim Crawford. We’re talking about
the winery based in New Zealand, called Kim Crawford.
Kim Crawford was one of the first wineries to launch screw caps, because it keeps the wine fresher than corks. At a time when the world was flooded with oak aged chardonnays, they decided that the world needed a clean,top quality, fruit driven chardonnay
devoid of heavy oak, so they started making one.
Seasonedwinemaker, Anthony Walkenhorst, first started working with Kim Crawford’s winery back in 2005. Working alongside founder Kim Crawford, the first wine Anthony made was the Sauvignon Blanc, which won at the Air New Zealand Wine Awards. Before joining Kim Crawford’s, Anthony received his First Class Honors Bachelor of Agricultural Science Degree from the highly esteemed University of Adelaide in Southern Australia.

Unoaked Chardonnay East Coast, New Zealandis a crisp refreshing white wine
The grapes for this wine are from selected vineyards in Marlborough and
Hawke’s Bay on theEast CoastofNew Zealand. With a nice golden color and
smooth finish, it is perfect for these hot summer days. With flavors oftropical fruit
and pineapple and ripe melon—with hints of butterscotch,
I would pair this wine with seafood, white meats, and grilled chicken.
Second on the list is Kim Crawford’s famousSauvignon Blanc Marlborough.Its low acidity and strong flavor profile makes this wine the go to wine for summer and spring drinking.
The grapes were selected from vineyards inMarlborough’s Wairau Valley, and the neighboring Awatere Valley. With flavors of Citrus andtropical fruitsbacked by characteristic herbaceous and grapefruit, I would pair this wine with seafood such as
fresh oysters, asparagus, lobster, or a summer salad.
