Hilarious, smart ass remarks and wine, with really sexy names. Oh, that’s right;
we’re talking about books and wine today. What is this crazy company that I bring
you today? It is none other than Naked Winery and Emma Chase’s “Tangled” series.
I know I have brought you great wine and book pairings in the past,
but this one definitely takes the cake!
This book takes place in New York, with the very successful very handsome
but very vocal man Drew Evans, who is an Investment Banker.
Now you might be thinking; why is this book so funny? Well, it’s the smart ass remarks that
Drew makes throughout this whole series. He’s not the guy to really fall in love with a woman, until he meets
Kate Evans, who turns Drew’s world upside down. In a naughty way, that is!
Drew falls in love and gets his heart gets broken. He then fights like hell to get the one woman who got away. Tangled is not your mother’s romance novel. It is an outrageous, passionate, witty narrative about a man who knows a lot about women…just not as much as he thinks he knows. As he tells his story, Drew learns that
the one thing he never wanted in life, is the only thing he can’t live without.
Now on to the wine
I know this is not the first time you have seen Naked Wines on my blog, but what can I say. I love their wines!
I have 4 wines to bring you today, all of which are white wines.
First on the list is 2012 Booty Call. I mean, who doesn’t want a little booty call right?
This white Cabernet Sauvignon wine is bright and refreshing with a nice pink color,
with low acidity and smooth finish and flavors of watermelon and kiwi with a hunt of
strawberry on the nose. I would pair this wine with fruit salad and light chicken dishes.
Now onto the sexy names like Cougar. I know what you’re thinking… how is this a sexy name, right?
Well, this is not your normal white wine. It’s a semi-sparkling white wine. With just the right amount of bubbles, it is perfect for those early morning mimosas. With flavors of blueberries and lime, and a hint of grapefruit on the nose, it is perfect with many types of food. I would pair this with lemon and lime sorbet and light grilled fruit salad.
Third on the list is something a little sweet…. their 2012 Tease Riesling.. Come on. You know I was going to tease you a little bit, right? This wine is a nice smooth white wine that’s not too sweet and not to dry,
with sweet perfumes of melons and spices with a hint of lemongrass. On the nose, pear and lime.
It’s the perfect wine to go with salmon or BBQ fish.
Last on the list is their 2013 Pinot Gris. It is a chilling white wine with a blast of frontal, such as roses, with flavors such as cantaloupe and honey and honeysuckle. It’s the perfect wine to enjoy on these hot summer nights.
If things get steamy from there, well I warned you.
I would pair this wine with seafood, chicken and veggies, creamy pastas, or smoked cheeses
