When you think of the west, you never thought of
cowboys drinking wine, did you?
Well I have two wines that will change that thought with names that fit perfect with cowboys and long days in the saddle.
What are those wines you may ask?
They are The Spur and The Whip from Murrieta’s Well in California. With their deeply rooted history and hand built winery, it is unlike any other vineyard you have ever been too.
Let’s talk wine
First is The Spur red wine. It is a mix of many different wines blended together, making it a rich bold red wine. The blends are Petite Sirah, Petit Verdot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, and Cabernet Franc.
This wine has aromas of black cherry and blueberry with a hint of chocolate, spice and toasted oak, with shuttle tannins and acidity
which leaves it with a smooth lingering finish.
Now onto The Whip white wine. It is a great wine for any hot day. This wine is a tribute to the great white blends of the world. It is a sophisticated blend of aromatic white grapes such as Chardonnay, Gewurztramine, Sauvignon Blanc, Orange Muscat, Viognier, Pinot Blanc, Semillon Muscat and Canelli. Aged in a combination of stainless steel and neutral barrels, it has very little acidity and a nice finish, with flavors of white peach and apple and a hint of butterscotch, and my favorite sour green apple.
Saddle up your horses and have a drink!
